 In 2022 my first blog post was called Day One. This year it’s time to go to the next level!  Over the Christmas break I did some of my most deep thinking and realised that I have only had little drops of success. It’s time for me to commit to a five year surge.  A five year surge where I’m only focussing on becoming the best artistic version of myself I can be because I have come to the conclusion that everything else I want to achieve can be achieved as a flow on effect of becoming the best poet and actor possible.  Going to the next level is about using everything I have in a concentrated form. It’s about never giving up and never being finished.  In a stroke of perfect timing I was given the opportunity to get David Goggins’ book Never Finish. In my opinion Never Finish is even better than his first book You Can’t Hurt Me.  With each day that passes, I come to terms with the fact the life is a game of Tetris and my disability does not fit.  Fourteen years ago I began a concerted campaign to build my inner self so no matter how disabled my outside body may be I will never be broken. Using lessons learnt from the Catholic Bible, Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Chopra, Jack Kornfield, and the 14th Dalai Lama I laid the foundation for a calm yet strong approach to life.  I have now added to this bedrock the wisdom and lessons I have gained from the writings of Ryan Holiday. In particular from his books:  The Obstacle is the Way , Ego is the Enemy , Lives of the Stoics , Stillness is the Key , and the brand new masterpiece Courage is Calling .  Most importantly from all my research I now know how to live my life in an optimal way.  It is important to breathe, to detach from outcomes, take a universal perspective, and do not judge yourself or others.  I also believe it is more important...

It has been interesting to watch the development of the pandemic and how people are reacting. This is definitely my generation being put to the test. Previous generations have dealt with the Vietnam War, the Depression, and World War II. In World War II in particular the world came together to defeat evil. After that test, the decade of the fifties was the most prosperous decade in years. I would like to think that the pandemic is teaching us the resilience, unity, and selflessness that past crises have taught previous generations. Marcus Aurelius once wrote something like this "it is the bees' job to swarm and make the honey, so too it is a human's job to make humanity better". In the past month, I have undergone a coronavirus test and, for the first time in my life, I am happy that something turned out negative.
