Personal Power of Humilty

Another Lenten season has passed. Lent is a time for reflection and meditation, I have been reflecting on the meaning of humility for some time now.
I make a living sharing my life story and along the way some people have said that I can sound cocky which is the exact opposite to what I want to portray.
I believe in myself but I definitely do not think I am better than anyone.
Last year I had the honour and privilege to be cast in the upcoming ABC drama Barracuda it was this experience that started to teach me the lessons of humility.
I would not have done a brilliant job on Barracuda without the entire cast and crew, we were all dedicated to making the best show possible and all I had to do was my job.
My cerebral palsy also teaches me lessons in humility, every time my ego starts to get out of control someone comes in and wipes my bum.
I hope that the whole world can start to put humility at the top of the agenda because if our primary focus is on being humble it will be easier for the whole world to work together.
For my part I am going to endeavour to stop using the word I and follow the principles and behaviour of the worlds spiritual leaders and I hope within my life's journey I'm able to find the key to the personal power of humility.

Together Project

This blog post is the third in the series inspired by my reflections on the abuse and neglect suffered by people with disabilities. More Than Politics

Every election our vote is about more than politics; it says I am part of this nation and my voice will be heard. This election is about Team Australia. Which leader has a plan to build Australia's future and who wants to divide us? This election is about more than politics; it is about stable leadership. It is about aiming high, looking forward, and thinking big. My life has been about disability rights. I am living proof that disability rights is more than politics and this election people with disabilities' votes matter. If I was American I would die. Medicare is the envy of the world. No less than two American presidents have tried to bring in an Australian Medicare style system. Universal healthcare is a human right. Day One

Another year has begun, I am determined to make it a 22 caliber year. I plan to do this by going back to my first principles. Educate, motivate, protect, and lead with courage. Over the past years, I believe I have been making things too complicated. When I have been my most successful is when I have followed these first principles. I am going back to day one with my acting where my goal is simply to be the best student of acting there has ever been. By doing this I hope to achieve my remaining acting goals within the next five years.
